Since the redesigned model of Civic was delivered in 2013th we are not be getting many changes for the 2015th model. Just like couple years ago the hybrid model will be offered and we do not expect to see any major changes for the 2015 Honda Civic Hybrid. Few subtle improvements will be noticeable but those will most likely be related to the features and options that will this vehicle provide.
In the case of hybrid we are getting combination of 1.5 liter inline four cylinder gasoline engine that is helped with Integrated Motor Assist system. This is mild hybrid system and will offer decent fuel economy improvements, according to EPA and test results it should return 44 mpg in all drive conditions which is quite incredible since the price of this model is not significantly higher than a standard version.
Total power of this hybrid powertrain is 110 hp and it also offers 127 lb-ft of torque. With introduction of a more modern Lithium Ion battery pack we are getting highly efficient system that is also lighter compared to some previous versions that are offered in Honda hybrids. Power is transferred to the front wheels through a Continuously Variable Transmission that further reduces fuel consumption allowing its powertrain to always operate in the right power band.
2015 Honda Civic Hybrid Price
Compared to a standard Civic, that comes with 1.8 liter 140 hp inline four cylinder unit hybrid offers better fuel efficiency but also a lower power output. With a standard model drivers will be able to achieve 29/41/33 mpg so it is quite obvious that hybrid can bring significantly lower fuel bill. Base price of the gasoline powered version is about $19.000 but the hybrid comes with a price tag of almost $28.000. For many this is a significantly higher price but have in mind that hybrid version comes with much more equipment as a standard.
Just like it is the case with the exterior and powertrain, the interior will remain almost identical. After the redesign we have received some really nice improvements that make Civic much nicer place to be and significantly better for longer drives that in this case will be almost fatigue free. It is still not a luxury vehicle and it’s not supposed to be but the features that we are getting are promising.
Things like rearview camera, Bluetooth, USB/iPod connection, steering wheel controls, color screen and more are standard. On higher trim levels, that also include hybrid model, we have Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System that can be voice controlled. Materials used for the interior offer premium feel, soft touch materials and higher grade of plastics will certainly improve the level of comfort. Cloth trim is standard but it now also comes with leather of which both can be combined with all-black interior.
Review Of 2015 Honda Civic Hybrid
Both front and rear have received significant changes with introduction of 2013 model. With new clear lens headlights and nicer grille that now comes with black honeycomb inserts we are getting sportier looks but also the more elegant and refined design. Changed bumper with integrated fog lights and larger openings for better air supply are further emphasized with added chrome accents.
