Ever since the Porsche Panamera was launched in 2011, Porsche has been making new additions to the family with the latest addition being the 2014 Panamera Hybrid. The German Auto manufacturer is obviously not done with the Panamera series as it is set to release a new and improved version of this sedan by the end of 2015, this will be 2015 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid.
Apart from the dramatic reduction in fuel consumption characteristic of its enhanced plug-in hybrid technology, some of the new features you can look forward to in this car include, a futuristic interior design that will include all kinds of new intelligent features meant to offer a better and even more comfortable driving experience. The 2015 Panamera will see Porsche make several changes to the exterior look, some of the major changes you should expect include; redesigned bumpers, new intakes, LED Headlights, LED taillights, and revised exhaust tips.
The 2015 Panamera Hybrid is set to have powerful V6 petrol engine and an quite capable electric motor capable of delivering a combined power output of more than 420 Hp. This setup will also generate up to 900 pounds-feet of torque. The petrol engine is a 3.6 liter V6 twin turbo unit, which will give it a track car performance with a fuel consumption rating of a four cylinder powered vehicle.
2015 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid MPG
The electric motor in this car churns out 95hp. This is strong enough to push it to speeds of up to 62mph without burning a single drop of petrol. Just like the old Panamera hybrid, you can expect the new one to coast for longer distances and at higher speeds. We are waiting for EPA results but 30 mpg is quite possible in the combined drive cycle while the electric mode should offer between 90 and 100 MPGe.
This is because the 2015 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid is designed to shut off its powerful engine when you take your foot of the gas to save fuel letting you course for longer distances. It also harnesses the vehicle’s momentum at high speeds to recharge its lithium-ion battery. This powertrain generates enough power to take this luxury sedan from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.
The Lithium-ion battery stores slightly over 9 kWh, this gives you a great driving range of up to 22 miles on full electric mode. Recharging the battery takes under 3hrs, the car’s ability to recharge from kinetic energy also means that you never have to worry about completely running out of charge on long highway drives.

However, if you are interested in purchasing this 2015 Hybrid, you can expect to see it in show rooms after its release at the end of this year. More details should emerge pretty soon.
